Grey Perspectives - Instructions
The Guardian, The New York Times, The Economist, and Wikipedia are all using Google's 'Perspectives' Artificial Intelligence to help them censor/moderate community discussion, to encourage free speech without abuse.
However, the AI (Machine Learning) needs training in what is 'toxic'. which Google defines as:
This model was trained by asking people to rate internet comments on a scale from "Very toxic" to "Very healthy" contribution. Toxic is defined as... "a rude, disrespectful, or unreasonable comment that is likely to make you leave a discussion."
Grey Perspectives is a response to this development. If you would like to participate, please go to the Perspectives website, and find the 'Writing Experiment'. Find a quote online from someone (perhaps a well-known figure or source), which is reasonable in your view, or promotes reason and respect, and then copy and paste it into the Writing Experiment. If the quote receives a 'toxic' rating that you feel is not correct (perhaps 30% toxic or above?), please send it to me by Facebook page as a comment or message, or by Tweet (if you can, please do a screenshot from the Writing Experiment that I can include in the slideshow). And, perhaps most importantly, press the 'Seem Wrong' button to help the AI learn that these words are not toxic.
